BlueSkies43 Report
August 7, 2010

Partly cloudy skies, winds from the east and lower humidity made for a good launch day. The temperatures started out at a plesant low 74 with slight winds around 10:00 and heated up to a decient 89. The winds keep a cool breeze on us all day. It was warm when in the sun so shade and water were necessary items. We had a visit from the Boy Scouts who helped launch and recover models. They all had Baby Bertha's they built a few months earlier and they had a good time launching them. Drew and C.J. helped them prepare their models for launch.

We had 12 fliers with 53 flights and 60 motors burned. The total impulse was 3148.5 N-sec.(WCH L600-P) .

    1. Baby Bertha (C6-5) Great flight and recovery. It was a fun day flying.

It was a long fun day for all who could make the launch. We had some great flights and some spectactular landings. Only a few models were damaged but all could be repaired. Other than Darryl's lost model nothing else was lost.

After tearing down the launch site, I left the launch area around 4:45 pm with a day filled with rocket memories, tired rocketeers, a troop of happy Boy Scouts.

Jeff, it was great seeing you and it was a super pleasure to have your company at our launch. Come and fly with us again. You always have something interesting to launch and talk about.
Brian, its been a while and glad you could make the launch. You put up some interesting and super models.
George, its been almost a year since I last saw you and it was great seeing you and talking with you again. Hope you and Brian can make the August launch.
Drew, almost forgot what you looked like. Super J flight and I am sure the Boy Scouts had a ball.
C.J., it was good seeing you again. Thanks for helping the scouts prep their rockets and teaching them about Dog Barf. I am looking forward to publishing the pictures on the site. Hope you and Drew make it to the next launch.
Dennis, you always are a hit with the big and small kids. Glad you could make the launch and thanks for helping with the launch.
Darryl, Thanks for all your support and help. You did get in a few flights too.

Our next launch is a scheduled for September 18, 2010 at ADC Park between 10 - 5. Hope to see ya all then.

Stay tuned to the Bluegrass Rocketry Society web site for launch schedule updates.

    See you there.
