TRA 01 Report
March 07, 2010
Those that did not make it out this weekend missed a great weekend to fly rockets for our 1st BRS research launch held at Sims Farm.
Joe and I had a great time today. What a great day to fly rockets.
We had 2 fliers with 13 flights and 13 motors burned. The total impulse was 2769.74ns. a little more than a CTI L730 n-s .

Name | Flights | Comments |
Joe Magginnis | 8 |
- Metalizer (A8-3) 1st flight if the day.
- Big Betty (D12-7) Great flight.
- Ranger 24 (D12-5) Lost nose cone.
- Small Endeavour (F36BS) Maiden flight and Joe's 1st CTI motor.
- Minnie Magg (H123W) Always a good flight with this motor.
- Minnie Magg (H123W) Always a good flight with this motor.
- Jackhammer (I245G) Maiden flight. Chose a longer delay and created a nice long zipper in the process.
- Goblin 4" (I117FJ) Maiden flight. Great flight for about 100 feet then a beautiful loop de loop several times and landing on the ground before the ejection charge went off. Later in the day realized I had used the wrong (lighter) nose cone.

Darryl Hankes | 5 |
- Crooked Cross (H250G) Nice flight.
- Lil Red (A2 Screamer) 7.5mm AP research motor 2.5ns total impulse. Recovery charge failed to ignite. No damage.
- OB (D10) 24mm BP research motor with an estimated 15ns total impulse. Worked well.
- Red Crayon (H140 White) 38mm 2-grain 200ns total impulse research motor produced a beautiful flight. Motor formula and manufacture technique is a deep dark secret only Darryl knows.
- Red Crayon (I300 White) 38mm 4-grain 400ns total impulse research motor. Could not asked for a more awesome flight in an awesome rocket.

The next time I am going to try and get to the farm will be 3/20/10 commercial launch and 3/21/10 research launch.
(Note: Research Launch was cancelled due to adverse weather.)
